Throughout my career, I have been involved in several types of civil litigation ranging from the very complex medical malpractice and personal injury to the statutory-driven landlord tenant issues. It is my belief that the actual institution of civil litigation should be the last step taken when all other possible negotiations, compromise or resolutions have been exhausted. The civil litigation process is a lengthy, costly and time-consuming process which should only be utilized as a last option. While litigation is sometimes necessary, it is my belief that if a solution to the problem can be reached by the parties prior to litigation, all parties will be in a better position, not only financially, but also emotionally.
